Jamie L. Berenson

Jamie L. Berenson

Managing Partner

Jamie Berenson is a founding partner at Glauber Berenson Vego, where she specializes in workers’ compensation law. Practicing since 1992, Jamie is an experienced litigator who is well known for her “never say die” fighting spirit on behalf of hardworking people who need help navigating a byzantine and ever-changing area of the law, simply so they can get back to work after suffering an employment-related injury.

Jamie’s entire career has been in service to being a voice for the underdog, pursuing justice for people who desperately need a champion. In what is most certainly a David and Goliath paradigm, she shows up every day to guarantee that her clients are as aggressively represented as the insurance companies are by their attorneys. Jamie represents clients in cases both catastrophic and ordinary; to her, each case is unique and equally deserving of an outcome that is fair, equitable, and, quite simply, right. To this end, she pursues every legal channel to make sure her clients get the treatment and benefits they deserve under the law, recover quickly, and get back work.

Jamie serves on the board of directors of the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association, an organization focused on education and advocacy to protect injured workers across the state and is a frequent speaker about workers’ compensation reforms at regional conferences and seminars. She serves as the co-chair of CAAA’s Women’s Caucus, which is committed to providing support, mentorship, and advocacy for both women practitioners in workers’ compensation law and the rights of injured women workers who have experienced unfair treatment in the workplace. In addition, she is an advocate for legislative change and has actively lobbied lawmakers in Sacramento as a member of CAAA’s board of directors.

Among many recognitions over her career, Jamie was nominated as a Super Lawyer in 2006 and 2008-2020 and was also the inaugural recipient of CAAA’s Harold Wax Lifetime Achievement Award, which is given to Southern California attorneys who have surpassed the highest professional and ethical standards and made meaningful contributions to CAAA’s efforts.
