Workers have the right to do their jobs within a relatively safe environment. While some jobs may be inherently more dangerous than others, it is still the responsibility of the employer to take every reasonable measure to ensure the safety of their employees. However, not all employers meet this standard, and even if they do, workplace injuries can still occur.

These injuries can be more than physically damaging. Those suffering from workplace injuries often require expensive medical care, which can strain their finances. Additionally, they may be the breadwinner for their family and unable to work while recovering, resulting in further negative effects on their financial health. Physical injuries can also affect mental and emotional health, especially if the injury involves head or brain trauma.

We at Glauber Berenson Vego want to highlight this important topic, and we are proud to announce the 2025 GBV Educational Scholarship! To qualify for this $1000 opportunity, we are asking students to write about the important issue of workplace injuries and how both employers and the government can create a safer environment for their employees. The student with the best essay, school transcript, and professional resume will win the award to go towards their educational costs.

The deadline to apply is August 31, 2025.
