Ryan Vego is an amazing person. Not only a great attorney. He focused on what was best for me and my family FIRST. Very knowledgeable about the worker’s comp system in California. From the first meeting, he was only thinking about my long term outcome and he found me the absolute best doctor to do my surgeries. How he was getting paid was never even discussed and I never gave him or the doctors any money. Obviously they all got paid at the end by my employer and I’m sure he made plenty of $$ off my case, but it was never something I needed to think about. I could go on and on about everything he arranged for me during the 5 year marathon that my case dragged through (only because the worker’s comp system is so broken), but all I can really say is this:
You NEED a lawyer. Even if you don’t want to give money to a lawyer, you will end up with more just because any big company has lawyers who’s job it is to lie to you and get you to accept a lot less. Mr Vego is the reason I get my disability checks every month, why I was able to keep my home and my job, the reason I now receive a monthly disability check from my employer and the state of California for the rest of my life, and the ONLY reason I now have free lifetime medical coverage on my injured body parts without even a copay for treatment! And all of this is happening even though he was able to make them let me keep my job. My only regret is that leaving this review for him is really the only thing I can do to show my gratitude. He truly is a great man.
—-Be careful reading reviews regarding Worker’s Comp law firms in California. The system is so slow and damaged that it takes years to settle any case, regardless of what lawyer you choose. Many of the negative reviews here are really referring to the timeline and and the misconception that a ‘good’ lawyer will make you rich FAST. That’s simply not realistic. An injury is not a winning lottery ticket, it’s a horrible experience. Your lawyer’s job is to get you what you deserve, not to turn a hangnail into a Ferrari overnight.
It is always difficult going down this workman’s comp path, but these people, the entire staff, have made this an easier journey. They are caring, efficient, and knowledgeable. Ryan Vego, our attorney, clearly spelled out how this all was going to get done and what was going to take place to get it done. It truly was a great relief. I am a vocational return to work counselor and have been in Workers’ Compensation since the mid ‘70’s. I have had the opportunity to work with Glauber Berenson Vego handling cases for their injured workers. For the most part, I work with attorney Ryan Vego. Ryan is one of the hardest-working and most dedicated attorneys that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. As a vocational return to work counselor, I have, on occasion, had some difficult situations involving the insurance carrier in obtaining benefits for a client under their SJDB voucher.
Typically, attorneys at this point are finished with handling their clients’ cases and do not get involved. Not Attorney Ryan Vego. Ryan is committed to making sure his clients are provided with their benefits, regardless of where they are in the process.. I know, he stands behind each and everyone, even when his work is done. I have never heard any client, not even one, complain about him. On the contrary, they tell me how much they love him, how hard he worked for them and how happy they were with the case resolution. That is very, very, very rare. Now, about his office staff and case coordinators. I love them. They make my job so easy and are there to help me help them. I want to mention this because they are the backbone to every turn. Anabel Arias and Teresa Ruiz are the most competent case, coordinators. They, along with Ryan Vego get things done. It would be extremely difficult to lead the team without the support of these two ladies. Sharon Norman (Betts) handles post-settlement issues. I call her “superwoman”. She gets things done, even before I ask for them. I have no idea how she does it but Sharon is wonderful. Yesenia Cordon has been extremely helpful throughout all the time since she became my case coordinator. She is personable, knowledgeable, and informative each time we discuss the issues pertaining to my case. She has kept me always updated. Well WOW! My work comp cases, were complicated having injuries on top of injuries involving multiple employers. This diluted my case for awards although I am 100% disabled losing a good portion of my leg in the last injury. The cases settled as a group. This left me worried about being a burden to my son in a few years. But WOW It took three more years and I didn’t have much in the way of expectations!! Ryan Vego went to work on my subsequent injuries case and he nailed it!!! All I can say thank you to Ryan And his team!
