Ryan J. Vego

Partner

Ryan Vego is a partner at Glauber Berenson Vego and has practiced workers’ compensation law exclusively since 2012. A skilled litigator with experience in criminal defense, criminal prosecution, and administrative courts, Ryan’s north star has always been to advocate for those who deserve — but do not always find — excellent representation. As a champion for clients mired in a system that does not favor those challenged by issues of race, class, economic stability, and educational opportunity, Ryan dedicates himself to doing everything he can to simply help people.

While in law school, Ryan’s plan was to be a public defender, and, to that end, he worked as a Certified Law Clerk for the San Diego Public Defenders’ Office. In this position, Ryan handled criminal, misdemeanor, and juvenile cases and was gratified to be able to help address the unmet legal needs of disadvantaged clients. After graduating law school, Ryan moved to the District Attorney’s office and gained an entirely new perspective on the law and the difference that quality legal representation makes to those with limited resources.

Raised by parents who were doing good work — a social worker and a vocational rehabilitation specialist — Ryan learned the value of helping the people that no one fights for. In workers’ compensation, he found his perfect fit. As a workers’ compensation attorney, he takes pride in serving hardworking people who have suffered a workplace injury and simply want to get well and get back to work.

Ryan’s quick rise in the workers’ compensation arena can be attributed to his natural style of listening well, working hard, and analyzing details. His patience, diligence, deep understanding of how people think, and abilities in cooperation, negotiation, and litigation result in the best possible outcomes for his clients. Well regarded by his peers, Ryan has been recognized consistently over the years, from an early Super Lawyers Rising Star Award to a recent Top Attorney Award for Professional Achievement. Ryan is a member of the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association, an organization focused on education and advocacy to protect injured workers across the state. He has been a featured speaker at CAAA’s regional conferences, as well as led presentations at training seminars for Qualified Medical Examiners conducted by Exam Works.
